What must I do when you making a claim on my equipment policy?

You must notify PPIB as soon as possible after you suffer a loss.

You must also:

1 – Take all reasonable steps to prevent any further loss from occurring.

2 – Advise the nearest police station if your property is lost or stolen, vandalised or maliciously damaged. Your insurer may ask for a written report from the police.

3 – Keep the property that has been damaged and obtain a repair report from an authorised camera repairer, to determine the extent of the damage and whether it can be repaired.

In the event of a claim, the PPIB equipment policy includes an additional benefit for the Hire of Substitute Equipment, which can be discussed with your claims consultant at the time of lodgement.

And don’t forget, PPIB offer discounted premiums to members of AIPP. You can find out more details via the members portal at Trade Partner Offers.

I went with PPIB because several AIPP friends raved about the ease of their claims process. Whenever I’ve had to adjust my policy or a client needs to be named on my public liability certificate they’re extremely quick to respond.

My parent’s were both in the insurance business all their working lives so I got a glimpse behind the scenes. They drummed into me how important it is to be *properly* insured. I’ve heard first hand horror stories from many a professional photographer when their claim is declined. Stuart at PPIB knows our profession and makes sure my policies cover what’s required.

I’ve made many car insurance claims over the years. Fortunately I’ve never had to make a claim in the 32 years my photographic gear and business have been insured. I sleep better knowing I’m covered should I need to call PPIB.
